Two ears are better than one……..

When two hearing aids are used, two ears are listening so less power is needed. With two ears amplified, one can achieve greater efficiency and better clarity as well as hear people on both sides instead of just one. Listening from both ears gives us stereo listening, resulting in deeper sound quality and better localization- the ability to locate where a sound is coming from, whether it’s a car, a plane or another person. We don’t actually hear in our ears. Does that amaze you? We “hear” in our brain, which processes the inputs from both of our ears simultaneously. The synthesis of this input is what we recognize as hearing. The tiny differences in the signals that the two ears transmit to the brain enable us to determine the location of the car, potentially a life saving ability.
